The School gives young adults a place to study Scripture deeply, ask honest questions, grow in Christian community, and learn the way of Jesus together. We keep it free because access to serious discipleship should not depend on a student's ability to pay.

Sent out as missionaries.
After Aaron spent nearly a decade in full-time pastoral ministry, Calvary Chapel Vista sent Aaron and Brooklynn Salvato out as missionaries. They later established GoodLion, pouring themselves into preaching the gospel, making disciples, and creating resources that reach people locally and around the world.
Through GoodLion's podcasts, essays, and School of Discipleship, this work has helped young adults build a deeper, more rooted life with Jesus.

a new chapter
THE GOAL: DOING THIS full-time.
For years, Aaron has helped sustain this ministry through web design and other part-time work alongside his teaching, preaching, discipleship, and pastoral leadership.
After seeing what three years of deep discipleship did in real lives, the next chapter is building enough support for Aaron to devote himself to this work full-time: leading the next cohort, developing curriculum, mentoring students, partnering with churches, and creating resources that help young adults follow Jesus.

why free matters
Accessible to every hungry student.
Many young adults cannot afford Bible college, seminary, or expensive formation programs.
Bible colleges, seminaries, and other formation programs are tremendous gifts to the Church. GoodLion serves a complementary role: a local formation community centered on personal mentorship and offered without tuition.
We keep the School free because we believe deep discipleship should be accessible to hungry young adults whether or not they have money.
