In The World, But Not Of It.

We believe that it is important for Christians to understand that being in the world does not mean being of it. In a world that is lost in darkness, Christians are called to carry the light of Jesus into the dark, becoming "outposts of the Kingdom of Heaven in a world of darkness," as Eugene Peterson put it.

We are called to be in the world, to be salt and light, and to engage with the culture around us, but we are not called to be conformed to the world or to embrace its values. Instead, we are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

We also believe that the church is not a fortress to keep us safe from the world, but a training ground for the battle ahead. There is a battle for souls happening all around us, and we are called to participate in God's plan of redemption by sharing the love of Jesus with those in our sphere of influence. We are called to be ambassadors for Christ, representing him to the world and inviting others to join us in following him.

Even in the midst of a culture that may not always understand or accept us, we are called to remain faithful to Jesus and his values, shining his light into the darkness and bringing hope and healing to a world that so desperately needs it.
