The Kingdom of God
“In every Christian's heart there is a cross and a throne. We must put allow Jesus to put our self interests and flesh on the Cross, so He can take His rightful place on the throne.”
- AW TOZER
We believe it is imperitive to help students understand that the Kingdom of God is not merely some far off, distant realm of clouds and disembodied spirits. Instead, the Kingdom of God is an overarching concept that refers to God's rule and reign. The entire story of the Bible is about the Kingdom, beginning in the Garden where the Kingdom of God was first established and culminating in the new heaven and new earth that Christ will bring when he finally returns and restores all things!
The Kingdom of God is not just a future reality, but a present one as well. As theologians often say, the Kingdom is "already, but not yet." Because the King is here among his people, the Kingdom is here as well.
While we wait for the future Kingdom to be fully restored, Christians can live their lives in the present age with the understanding that Jesus is King.
He is not just our personal Savior, or a genie in a bottle here to make our lives fulfilled, but the King who calls us to follow Him. By submitting to his leadership and embracing the joy of his friendship and fatherhood, we can fulfill our purpose and live our lives in accordance with His will.
The Kingdom of God is among us, and by exploring this concept, we hope to help young people see their place within God's plan and understand the centrality of Jesus' rule and reign in their lives.
“The Kingdom of God is at Hand!”
- Jesus
